Теория (Used to / Be used to / Get used to)

Три похожие формы с абсолютно разным смыслом

ВАЖНО

Эти конструкции выглядят почти одинаково, но означают абсолютно разные вещи. Ключ к пониманию — время и значение (привычка в прошлом vs привычное состояние сейчас vs процесс привыкания).

1. USED TO + инфинитив

Что это:

Регулярные действия или состояния в прошлом, которые больше не происходят.

Формула:

used to + V1 (глагол в начальной форме)

Когда использовать:

  • Говорим о том, что было раньше, но сейчас изменилось
  • Ностальгия, сравнение «раньше и сейчас»
  • Только для прошлого — никогда для настоящего

Новые примеры:

  • I used to hate broccoli when I was a child. → (Раньше ненавидел, сейчас — нормально.)
  • They used to live in a tiny studio apartment. → (Сейчас у них большая квартира.)
  • My dad used to tell me bedtime stories every night. → (Сейчас он этого не делает.)

Запомните: Никакого настоящего времени с used to!

2. BE USED TO + существительное / -ing форма

Что это:

Быть привыкшим к чему-то прямо сейчас (или в прошлом в контексте). Что-то стало обычным, не вызывает дискомфорта.

Формула:

be (am/is/are/was/were) + used to + noun / verb-ing

Когда использовать:

  • Что-то уже знакомо и не кажется странным
  • Можете заменить на «для меня это нормально»

Новые примеры:

  • She is used to getting up at 5 AM for her job. → (Это для неё нормально, не напрягает.)
  • We are used to the noise from the construction site. → (Уже не обращаем внимания.)
  • He was used to eating alone after his wife left for work. → (В прошлом это было привычно.)

⚠️ Важно: После be used to НЕ инфинитив, а -ing или существительное!

3. GET USED TO + существительное / -ing форма

Что это:

Процесс привыкания — вы ещё не привыкли полностью, но постепенно адаптируетесь.

Формула:

get / gets / got / getting + used to + noun / verb-ing

Когда использовать:

  • Процесс, а не результат
  • Можно заменить на «постепенно становится нормально»
  • Работает в любом времени: настоящее, прошлое, будущее

Новые примеры:

  • I am getting used to the new software at work. → (Пока непривычно, но привыкаю.)
  • She got used to living alone after about a month. → (Процесс завершился в прошлом.)
  • You will get used to the cold if you stay here long enough. → (Прогноз на будущее.)
